Nhan Luat Supplies Steel Piles for the Day River - Ninh Co Canal Project

Nhan Luat Investment and Steel Trading Corporation is honored to supply steel for the 1km-long canal project, connecting the Day River and Ninh Co. The main structure of this project is the largest lock in Vietnam, allowing for the navigation of large-tonnage vessels

With a total investment about 2,300 billion VND, the lock has a width of 17m, length of 179m, and depth of 7m, capable of accommodating cargo vessels weighing between 2,000 and 3,000 tons

The reason for the construction of this canal lock is due to the water level difference between the two rivers, the Day River and the Ninh Co River. The main function of the lock is to control the water flow between the two rivers. The operating principles are similar to other locks worldwide, with water level balancing between the lock and the outside, using two gates that can be opened and closed at both ends. The project has achieved 80% completion after more than 2 years of construction. Currently, the concrete and steel reinforcement works have been completed, and Nhan Luat is honored to supply steel for this project through two contractors, HUD1 and Phu Xuan.

The canal is part of the Transport Development Project in the North Central Coast region VB6.

This project is of great significance as it allows vessels with a payload of up to 3,000 tons to access the Ninh Co River from the sea, reaching the Ninh Binh - Vinh Phuc port cluster. This significantly reduces the burden on road transport and shortens the travel time by 20% for waterway vehicles traveling between coastal provinces and Ninh Binh.
